Overview

Chain trenching is the backbone of modern water and services infrastructure. When accuracy, depth control, and reliability matter, our chain trenching systems deliver clean, consistent trenches across a wide range of ground conditions.

From tight orchard rows to large-scale farm reticulation schemes, we trench with purpose, setting systems up to last decades, not seasons.

What we do
  • Irrigation and farm water reticulation

  • Power and telecommunications trenching

  • Stormwater and sewer lines

  • Guidance wires for pivot irrigators

  • Tank and trough supply lines

We handle pipe and cable sizes from 10mm through to 450mm, with consistent depth and alignment throughout.

Why it matters

Poor trenching leads to uneven fall, weak joins, washouts, and premature failures. Accurate trenching protects your investment, improves system efficiency, and reduces future maintenance.

Our trenching advantage
  • Tight, difficult spaces Our machinery allows centre, offset, and side-shift trenching within 300mm of obstacles, fence lines, and end posts, ideal for orchards, vineyards, and constrained sites.

  • Accurate depth control Consistent depth is maintained across long runs, ensuring correct fall and system performance.

  • Any size, any system From small service lines to large mains, we have the tooling and experience to trench it properly.

  • Large-scale capability We specialise in full farm and lifestyle block water schemes. Across just four Hawke’s Bay contracts, we’ve installed over 86,000 metres of water reticulation.
