Overview
Aqualine completed a sub-surface land drainage project for a kiwifruit orchard in Pakowhai, Hawke’s Bay.
The orchard was showing clear signs of waterlogged soil, with some plants struggling and others already lost due to excess moisture around the root zone.
To help correct the problem, Aqualine installed just under 1,700 metres of Novaflow through the affected area, creating a drainage system designed to move water away from the block and help the soil return to the right moisture levels.
Once complete, the drainage system will help the soil dry out, giving the kiwifruit plants better growing conditions and supporting stronger long-term plant health and crop yield.
This project was a practical drainage solution for an active orchard environment, completed with care around the existing plants and orchard rows.
